How does the power flushing process work?

picture

Power flushing is a highly effective cleansing operation which works by forcing water at a much higher velocity than usual through the central heating system to loosen and mobilise harmful corrosion {rust, magnitite, sludge and scale deposits} by flushing the system with rapidly moving water.

Once loosened, the unwanted debris are then passed through a seperate magnetic filtration system, which picks up iron oxide (rust} and removes it from the system. Other unwanted debris are purged from the system with clean water. At the end of the flushing process the system contains clean water and corrosion inhibitors are added.

During the flushing process, radiators are individually flushed without removing or disconnecting them from the system, by directing the full flow off water through each radiator separately.

Power flushing is a high pressure operation, and is suitible for the majority of domestic central heating systems. It is carried out with minimal disturbance and disruption to the normal operation of the system.
